We love having children and youth at St John’s, and have lots on for all the family.

Children are always welcome at all our services. We know that children can be loud, cry, or run around and be energetic – so please don’t worry about how your children might behave, they are always a valued member of our church family no matter what. We simply ask that parents and carers keep an eye on their children during our services to keep them safe.We have an area in our church dedicated for our little ones – with books, toys, and comfy seating – please make use of this during any service.
Sunday services
During our 10.30 service each Sunday we have dedicated activities for children.
- On the 1st Sunday of each month (not January or August) we have Messy Church over in the hall – this is a creative celebration suitable for all ages – we have crafts, music, prayer and refreshments. See more about Messy Church here.
- On the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of the month we have a group called Energize that meets at the back of church during part of the service. We learn about bible stories, do craft, sings songs and play games. Parents and carers are welcome to either come to Energize with their children, or to stay in the main service.
- On the 3rd Sunday of the month we have an all-age worship service together in church – this is a service that has lots of activities for children throughout the service.
Little Doves

We have a midweek group for babies and toddlers called “Little Doves” that meets every Thursday during term-time in the church hall, from 9.30am until 11am. Expect lots of toys, crafts, bible stories, music, games and refreshments. Little Doves is totally free – there is the option to donate if you’d like, but no obligation at all. This is a “stay-and-play” group - babies and toddlers must be accompanied by an adult at Little Doves.
