Welcome to the Church at Home pack for this coming Sunday.
Our reading today is 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1, and the theme is “Little Difficulties”.
Order of service
This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. God in Christ has revealed his glory. Come let us worship.
Song; Strength will rise
Prayer of confession
God our Father, we come to you in sorrow for our sins. For turning away from you, and ignoring your will for our lives: Father, forgive us: save and help us. For behaving just as we wish, without thinking of you: Father, forgive us: save and help us. By failing you by what we do and think and say: Father, forgive us: save and help us. For letting ourselves be drawn away from you, by the temptations in the world around us: Father, forgive us: save and help us. For living as if we were ashamed to belong to your Son: Father, forgive us: save and help us. The Lord enriches us with his grace, and nourishes us with his blessing; the Lord accepts our prayers, and absolves us from our offences, for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Amen.
Song: Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Song: We will meet when the danger is over
You may like to pray for the following:
- The gradual easing of lockdown – and especially those who are frustrated at how slow it is, and those who fear that it is all going too quickly.
- Any situations that you have heard of in the news recently, and for which you want to pray.
- Those you are aware of who are suffering, through illness, frailty or sadness.
And/or use the Prayer time notes on the church website.
Finish by saying the Lords Prayer:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
Song: Light in my darkness (All my hope)
God be the road on which we travel: He the mountains on which we are tested and challenged; He the wells at which we find healing and peace. Christ be the light by which we travel: He the vision which informs and enlarges us; He the lodestar shining in our darkest nights. The Spirit inspire us as we travel: She the restlessness driving us onwards; She the stillness leading us to the heart of God. The Trinity, the Three, go with us as we travel; and may our journey begin, continue and end in Them. Amen
Let us go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
In the name of Christ. Amen.
