Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.

Closing song: There is nothing that our God can’t do

(no on screen lyrics)

Discussion Questions

  1. Jesus (and Paul) are pretty clear when it comes to obeying the law of the land – (you should, in case you were wondering) but can you think of an example where you feel you should not?
  2. Part of the problem with saying “all things will end” is that it feels it takes a long time for some of those bad things to end – what should Christians do until the the bad things end?
  3. What are the challenges and opportunities facing Christians during this time of Coronavirus?

‘Coffee and Chat’ time….

A ‘Coffee and Chat’ Zoom Meeting will start at 10:15 for 10:30am on Sunday. More details are available on the St John’s Facebook page and in the note sent to church members.
