Accts Military Ministries International (Accts MMI) is a UK-based, ecumenical organisation that exists to promote Christian faith in the military.  It does this by encouraging individual military believers to form indigenous, self-supporting Military Christian Fellowships (MCFs) for mutual support, and by promoting the idea of formal military chaplaincies to the governments of countries where that does not exist.  It uses tools of individual visiting, organised activity retreats and seminars on topics such as MCF formation and structures, Christian leadership, marriage and military Christian ethics.  Its strap-line of “Changing lives, changing nations” is fundamental to its vision since the military has great sway and influence in many parts of the world.

The UK organisation operates primarily in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent and some regions of SE Asia.  There are sister organisations (ACCTS in N America, and Mission Support Organisation in Korea) which enable world-wide coverage.  To minimise overhead costs there are only three full-time paid workers but many voluntary regional associates and team leaders.  Funding goes mainly to support attendance at the relevant meetings and seminars, with grants being paid for delegates from poor nations.   

Rev. Mike Terry has been associated with Accts MMI almost since its inception around 25 years ago and attended several of its events both as a delegate and as a leader/speaker.  He is looking forward to being more involved, particularly as a clergyman, while bringing his 31 years Naval experience to bear in this exciting and important field.
