Evangelical Alliance

What is an evangelical Christian?  Try this link to find out the answer!

The Evangelical Alliance is the largest and oldest body representing the UK’s two million evangelical Christians. For more than 165 years, they have been bringing Christians together and helping them listen to, and be heard by, the government, media and society.  They believe the Church is the key to long-lasting change in our country – and that by working closely with our amazing members, we can transform our communities with the good news of Jesus.  St John’s church is part of this alliance.

There are 81 denominations, nearly 4,000 churches, 600 organisations and thousands of individual members of EA.  Through EA, Christians can:-

  • learn from and engage with other Christians,
  • use the EA resources for the growth of the Church,
  • learn about how we affect the culture we live in,
  • engage in current affairs and
  • grow our theology
