Our belief that poverty can be ended is based on our understanding of scripture and the work of a creative, loving God. ‘Let us love, not in word or speech but in truth and action’ (1 John 3:18).
We are an international development agency that works in partnership with churches of all denominations and through local partners across the world, so that churches and others ‘can respond to Christ’s command to care for all in need’.
Everything we do is in response to God’s gift to the world, of his son Jesus Christ. Jesus promised ‘good news’ for the poor and ‘freedom’ for the oppressed, calling us to action.
Jesus called his followers to ‘love God and love your neighbour’. Through his life and teaching, his death and his resurrection, he inspired his followers to love God, love their neighbours and long for justice.
We are strongly committed to inspire and encourage churches and individuals to hold poor communities in prayer. Please pray for the work of Christian Aid – for their on-going projects, for their involvement in disaster relief and for their campaigns to change the injustices that keep the poor poor.
